Pet remove Login or register to post comments

Submitted by Peter on Tue, 2010-07-27 22:35

Pet remove Login or register to post comments is a Drupal add on module to remove the Login or register to post comments link from teasers. Another free Drupal module from PeterMoulding.com.

When you list items on the home page, and elsewhere, you end up with a summary of each node in the list. The summary is called a teaser. The teasers contain a link named Login or register to post comments. The link repeats, annoying visitors and breaking accessibility validation. See Usability: Configurable comment link on teasers for a discussion about why so many people want this one simple change to Drupal.

Download

Download pet_remove_login_or_register_to_post_comments.zip and follow the usual module installation procedure. Expand the .zip file to get a directory named pet_remove_login_or_register_to_post_comments. Move the directory into /sites/all/modules/. Activate the module in Administer » Site building » Modules.

Conclusion

Your home page and some other pages will have one less set of validation errors when you use this module. Everyone visiting your site while using a screen reader will be happier.

Comments

Drupal can automatically notify the administrator when a new version of any module, theme, or the Drupal core itself becomes available.

Drupal themes use standardized formats that may be generated by common third party theme design engines. Thanks.

That's a great work. This will help a lot of administrators to protect their website by removing such links. Thanks for this interesting post.

i've been posting for quite some time now and this is the first time i learned that the summary is called a teaser. likewise, the teasers contain a link named Login or register to post comments. this is a very good information on my part.

I tried and implemented this technique and it has been working very well for me. Thank you very much.
