The Summons about a lawyer, typical Grisham, but is not set in a courtroom.
Ray Atlee teaches law, his father a judge, and his brother a drug addict. His father dies and leaves a surprise. Lots of characters are involved in a reverse chase where Ray runs away.
I read The Summons straight after reading The testament, another Grisham book based on a surprise will. The testament is better. Both the characters and the story are more interesting. If you are a Grisham fan and want to read all his books, read The Summons before The Testament because The Summons is bland after The Testament.
