Contenido is a content management system for people who read German but not English.

Read about Contenido at www.contenido.org. The web site is available in English and Deutsch (German). The English version reads as if it is written by people not used to writing English. Contenido could be a good choice for a content management system if you can read the German text but is not such a good choice for people who have to read the English version.

Contenido has the built in ability to run multiple Web sites from one code base to save you maintenance time. Drupal can run multiple Web sites from one code base with two different approaches. Drupal multisite lets you use a separate database and separate set of add on modules and a separate set of add on themes for every site. Drupal with the Domain add on module lets you run multiple Web sites from one database with one set of modules and one set of themes. I do not know if the Contenido multiple site approach uses one or multiple databases.

Contenido claim their CMS is used in several thousand sites. A quick search shows mainly German language sites.
