AUUG Annual Conference 2001

AUUG 2002 Conference September 25 to 27, 2001AUUG is the Australian UNIX and Open Systems Users Group. AUUG2001 was their major conference for 2001. At the conference I revealed PHP TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) secrets at AUUG2001 in a paper titled "Why PHP?". You can have the same information presented as a keynote presentation for management or a short workshop for people closer to the implementation.

PHP happens to be the best tool for Web site programming and is open source so you will not be hounded by licensing restrictions. You can use any existing infrastructure with PHP as it runs on NT, Windows, and Unix. PHP works the same across multiple platforms so you can keep your web site running while converting to, or from, Solaris, Linux, NT, FreeBSD, Windows, and other operating systems.

I revealed PHP TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) secrets at AUUG2001 in a paper titled "Why PHP?". You can have the same information presented as a keynote presentation for management or a short workshop for people closer to the implementation. The workshop lets you include your site specific information.

Choosing PHP is part of the larger question of open source software versus proprietary software, which I cover in another presentation for your organisation at management or board level.
